Mr. Cawthon, are you going to point out that the Cruikshank decision by Justice Waite set civil rights aside for 90 years? Are you going to point out that this decision revolved entirely around the Colfax Massacre, which left dozens of black people dead? That his decision gave priority over gun laws to the state in which the massacre happened? And that the decision is considered by both moderate and conservative judges of today to be a travesty of justice?

But do, please, lecture us on “a little learning” and how to “drink deep”.
